Event Details
For those of you who are not aware, IndyHall was one of the first coworking facilities to open in the country, and its founders, Alex Hillman and Geoff DiMasi have been huge inspirations for coworking communities all around the world.
I recently had the opportunity to visit the new and improved IndyHall64 in their new location in Philadelphia. IndyHall is truly a hub of innovation and startup activity in Philadelphia, and I'd love for you to see how the design of their community is driving an atmosphere of innovation and collaboration.
With a population roughly twice that of Baltimore's and over a year head start on us, I have always looked to IndyHall as a indicator of what the future of coworking would likely be in our area.
IndyHall now has about 47 desks, a full kitchen, some aquarium pets, a nice conference area, and is generally an awesome place for the tech/arts world to flourish.
Alex has graciously invited us to come to IndyHall, see what they have done and what they are working on, meet members of their community, and hang out and talk at a Friday afternoon happy hour.
Many of you have expressed interest in coordinating a trip to Philadelphia and to IndyHall, and so I figured we'd just put it together.
So, please sign up if you can come, and spread the word to others who you think might like to join in!
Schedule details
UPDATE: Because of the interest in this trip we are looking into arranging a bus for the day. If we do this, we'd ask each participant to pitch in $40 or so to cover the cost. Stay tuned; this will be a great opportunity for getting to know each other and will let us focus on ideas, all together, rather than on driving logistics, traffic, etc.
We expect to have about 25 40 participants and several drivers. While the day is nominally slated to run from 8AM - 8PM, with an afternoon lunch/dinner in the mix, some people will be staying overnight and others may be coming back earlier. We should be able to accommodate a variety of schedules and we will coordinate that the week of the event.
